Artnership: Skill Swap

Here's my latest work made in my ARTNERSHIP with Lauren Larken!

Week 12:
Skill Swap (Part 1)

Assignment: Make a LESSON for your Artner to walk them through your particular process using your preferred media. Since Larken is a musician, I decided to talk about how I've always liked to DRAW MUSIC and I explained in depth one particular technique I've liked using. Feel free to try this out yourself!

Week 13:
Skill Swap (Part 2)

Assignment: We followed the lesson laid out by our Artner the week before! (Larken wrote out a great songwriting lesson in her blog here!) So I had to try writing music, which I find pretty intimidating, and then we discussed our experiences afterwards. Here's the SONG I WROTE!

(No title...and no bridge! So it's sorta short...)

 a.
I create, make, like an ice cream machine
ideas served, scoops and cones, to see what’s unseen.

b.
Taken over by all all all I see
a high school sugar rush of clarity.

chorus

I have go go go go go in me
such an urgent urgent urgency
I fall head first plunge into my dreams
And I finally feel feel feel like me.

a.

No more bite-size spoonful serving-size art.
Let it in, stay a while, straight into your heart.

b.

Inspired by all all all all I see
I fill a museum for an audience of...me.

chorus

I have go go go go go in me
such an urgent urgent urgency
I fall head first plunge into my dreams
How it worry worry . worries me.

(Because it’s scary....)
