Cafe Bustelo Can

A couple months ago I worked with the lovely folks at We Came in Peace Design with a new CAFE BUSTELO coffee can design. It will be used for a special blend in collaboration with Modern Family's Sofia Vergara.

I drew out some different pinup-ad-art-deco-Miami-inspired versions of her...

...which were incorporated into final can designs. I'll keep you posted whenever the final one hits stores!

Drawn Love Letters: Part 7

You've seen the romantic drawings about the honeymoon period of my relationship...now it's time to move on to the harder stuff. (Click to see larger)

We all have issues that other people can't see on the surface, sensitive spots that someone else can accidentally step on and it triggers the defenses. Kurt and I were mapping out his mines and we saw a pattern. We're still working on mine.

When things are going well in a new relationship, it's like the skeptical-side is keeping a lookout for problems. Looking for reasons to turn on a warning light...which are open for interpretation. (There's a check engine and safety belt light on our hearts, and a temperature warning where we're holding hands.)

This is our default position, sitting on top of each other and mushing together. We make a six point star.

John Gabriel Borkman @ BAM

Hooray for random scenic painting gigs! I recently put in some late-night work plastering and painting snow mounds on the set of John Gabriel Borkman at the BAM Harvey Theater. It's playing now through February 6th. (Too bad I didn't get to meet Alan Rickman...)

"Page by Paige" update

Happy New Year!

So WHAT IS UP with that book I made last year? Here's the skinny...

Pre-production galley copies of Page by Paige are being sent out to bookstores and such, and I've already been getting really great feedback and some glowing reviews. (Thank you!) I only have a few copies myself, so alas I have none to give away...

It's now on the Abrams website, available for PRESALE! $10, comes out May 1st.

Pssst--On the Abrams page you can "like" my book on Facebook. Please do!

I was featured as an Indie highlight on PREVIEWS, an influential comic trade site. This is really amazing that they even chose me, the totally unknown author!

And how crazy is it that I discover someone else has made a TRAILER for my book? What?! Watching this was all sorts of surreal. Now I need to get moving on making my OWN trailer!
